In the past few years, online shopping has reached an all-time high. Many people adapted to the changes within society and found ways to purchase all their goods online, preventing leaving their house when it’s not necessary, but it is important to find ways to support the planet whilst you do so.
To reduce the environmental impact of its delivery services, our parent company THG introduced an Eco Delivery option for customers, which uses their postcode data to assess and implement the most environmentally friendly delivery route. Plus, one tree will be planted for every order placed using the Eco Delivery option!
Customers who choose Eco Delivery will have their treats delivered via foot, electric vehicle or bicycle for the final mile of the journey. During the initial trial this allowed for a 24% year-on-year reduction in C02 emissions per shipment in the UK. Eco delivery helps us to reduce our overall carbon footprint.
We are all responsible as individuals to attempt to do less harm to the planet and Eco Delivery is an easy step we can all take when purchasing online to lower our emissions (1)!
